Fifth Adoptaversary

It was this day in 2007 that we officially adopted J!  She was first placed in our care on January 5, 2005, so it was a long wait to make it official, but still faster than our first three kids.

I purposely don't post a lot of photos identifying our children here because I know how it goes on the web ... these things stick around forever and I don't want to make that choice for our kids.  However, J has grown up so much since her adoption day and she hardly resembles the 2-year-old she was then, so I'm posting a photo of her on Adoption Day.  I snapped this one as we were on our way to court because she was just so cute!

I can't believe this little girl is nearing 8 years old now. She's such a big kid now ... so smart, so artistic, so insightful, a little bossy and opinionated at times, but mostly just a sweet girl with a lot of passions in and about life.

We love you, J.  We are so glad you are ours!
