Marketing Fun

My sisters and I have had a long, unspoken tradition of finding mistakes in advertisements or product package text or on big signs and sending pictures or written descriptions of these errors to one another so we can laugh together at the situation.  If you are in marketing or advertising, I apologize if this offends you.  However, we don't intend any meanness, it's just something we find funny and it's a way to stay connected over the miles and no matter what is going on in our lives otherwise.

I was searching through sample photo cards earlier today and noticed that they used the same three or four photographs to demonstrate how a photo will appear on a card.  Then I came to this one:

And it cracked me up!  Without even mentioning the snowman's uneven eye-dots or Mom's bangs, what made me laugh most about this was the lack of a baby in the picture.  My kids were having fun with me coming up with why there was no baby on this model-family's Christmas card.  Here are some of the best back-stories we created:

1) Baby was much too ugly, so they wanted to mention "him," but until he grows into his gigantic head, he will not be pictured with the family.

2) The girl is "Baby" and until now has been deprived of a Christmas celebration.

3) The girl is "Baby" and the parents are just the world's worst procrastinators.

Ahh, fun with marketing.  Feel free to come up with your own explanations.  Don't worry, these models can't hear you.  It's just entertaining.

  1. I was going to say the mom was named Baby, but then I saw that the girl is named Baby. What is up with mom's bangs?
