Jiminy Crickets! I just ran into a new product that I am super excited about. I like office supplies any way I can get them, but this one has got to be the best invention since sliced bread. A liquid pencil.
No, it's not ink. It's not a pen. It's not even an erasable pen. It's an actual pencil with liquid graphite.
From the wonders of Sharpie.
Our son, H, with all of his sensory and fine motor control issues has a problem constantly breaking the tips of his pencils. Mechanical pencils also distract him and he wastes a lot of lead just punching the button too many times. Regular old wooden pencils are a problem because he sharpens them down to a nub the first day he uses one. So could this be our miracle pencil for him?
I will have to let you know. I just picked up a two-pack at Target last night (they come with refillable erasers) and gave him one to use. I've blown away everyone who cares in our immediate family with this crazy new pencil and now I can't wait to see if it really is all that I hope it can be. The price was reasonable, I think -- around $3.00 for the two-pack. If I ever find a sale or a coupon, I'll stock up better.
Anyway, check it out. Let me know your thoughts. Please don't tell me if you learn that this amazing liquid graphite is actually poison or something. :( Well, okay, if it is, let me know. But I really hope not.
Wow, that's cool! I want to try!
ReplyDeleteI want to try one, too! Have you heard any bad news about them yet? How does this pencil seem to be working, now that it's been around your home a few months?
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard any bad news about their safety or anything, but H did not like them. Apparently, you still have to hold them at an exact angle to get the liquid to flow properly and he feels uncomfortable with it and can't make them work right. So I kept them for myself. I like them. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still in search of a perfect pencil for him.
Thanks for asking.
