Monday Mastery: Balloon Photos

While I still don't think of myself as any kind of photographer really, but more of just a person who enjoys taking pictures for the keepsakes that they are; this year's Fiesta has given me more of an opportunity to perfect my balloon picture-taking skills.  I'll post here a series of my best shots from this past week for your enjoyment.  Some are favorites because of the situation or sentiment and others because I think they're pretty decent shots.  I will let the pictures speak for themselves for the most part and allow you to decide your favorites.  These are posted in no particular order and were all shot with a Nikon D90 by me.

If you have never been to New Mexico, the Balloon Fiesta time of year (first week in October beginning with Saturday), is definitely the best time to come.  Not only is the sight just awesome, but the weather is at its best.  We had a little more rain this year than usual, but here in the desert, even at Fiesta time, rain is welcome.  I hope you enjoyed this mini-tour of the Fiesta here.  Happy Autumn, Friends.

  1. Very nice!

Did you get to take D, etc.? I had talked up the fireworks to L and hoped they'd be able to see the show!

I don't know how to point out my favs, so I'll try to describe. I like the night-fire shots, the ones where you have some balloons mixed in with a natural setting, and I think the 9th one down, which is too hard to describe otherwise. :)
