Type 2

I was reading a post today in one of the blogs I follow and it mentioned the Enneagram.  I'd never heard about it before, but the post had me intrigued, so I did a little more digging to learn more.

Generally speaking, from what I understand (by skimming a few sites), it's a personality test used often in organizations to determine a person's fit within that organization.

My test results showed that I am a Type 2.

My results.  Hopefully this isn't TMI for you about me.

I found it interesting that it's recommending I work on my psychological and physical health -- since that's what I've spent a lot of time doing this year already!  Hmmm.

Anyway, I don't know if this means anything for me particularly, since I'm not testing as part of an organization per say.  However, it was fun -- I like those sorts of quizzes (there are no wrong answers!).

Incidentally, S took the quiz, too, and she is also a Type 2.  Though the order of everything else is different for us.  She always feels like she's more like her Dad, but she is an oldest daughter, so I think inevitably, that makes her be more of a helper in order to survive.  H took the test, too, and it turns out he's a type 8 (not surprising for those of us who know him).  Z is a type 7 for Adventurous.  Yes, true.

You can go here to take the quiz yourself, if you'd like.  It's free!  Let me know your type in the comments below (if you want to share).

  1. Hey thanks for the link! :) I think this test is more negatively oriented than, say, Myers-Briggs. It seems to be more about what's wrong with you than an overall picture of your personality. Still very interesting though!

  2. I agree with you on all counts and I was familiar with Myers-Briggs from college days or something. I forget. But whenever I took that test years ago, I remember I was INFP.

  3. Oh I did this the other day, too! I'm a Type 4.

  4. Wow! We're apparently so different (congratulations!) because 4 was my lowest number. C took it, too. He's Type 5 -- not that it's any surprise for those of us who know him. :)

  5. It is interesting. I don't want to take the test, though. I took one similar when I was in my 30's. I was so bummed with the results I was depressed about it for some time.

    Sorry :/
