Post-Interview with School of Ministry

I sat in the hot parking lot with Z, J, N and E, for an hour and twelve minutes.  It was hot.  The kids got out and played in the grassy area alongside the parking space and I took a few pictures of them practicing handstands and balancing on the cinder block wall that ran alongside the grass.  Did I mention it was hot?

But all that sweating and waiting was totally worth it to see our daughter emerge from her interview location with a confident smile on her face.  They talked with her for a while and then they made their decision on the spot.  (Normally, they call the applicants within a couple days to tell them if they're accepted or not.)

She has been accepted.

S said the interview with the Dean and the Administrator went well and that ultimately -- though they tried to "talk her out of attending" several times because it's going to be a lot of work and wanted her to be sure she was ready to take it on -- they said they could see the Lord was with her and that they felt it was the wisest decision for them to include her in this year's class at School of Ministry.

I know I've said it a lot lately, but I am so proud of this girl.  Thank you, God, for paving the way for her.

Twelfth grade is going to be hugely challenging for her, but in all the best ways.  I can't wait to see the growth she'll undergo in this program.

Now, we just need to figure out how to pay for tuition -- any ideas, God?  It's not much when compared with the cost of college programs or private schools, but it still is a pretty good chunk of change that we need put forth here this summer.  So, please be praying for provision!!

  2. That's a good question ... I don't know. But, they limit class to 24 people, I think they said.

Thanks for the cheers, both of you!

  3. Wow, that's wonderful! I'm so glad for both of you! Is this like a high school, or college, or Bible college, or what? :)

  4. Thank you!

It's a program that is college-like, but not college. It's typically geared towards adults who want to go into ministry leadership. But they do accept some younger people 16 and up if they seem like a good fit for the program. A very intensive Bible knowledge and application program. She'll have a lot of reading, history, writing and research. We'll fill in math and science at home or in other capacities.

The program is five days a week for two semesters and includes retreats and a missions trip. It also includes a lot of hands on practical ministry training at the church where the program runs.
