Educational Shower Curtains

Okay, so I know this sounds crazy, but I love educational shower curtains.  Our kids have had a vinyl world map shower curtain in their bathroom upstairs for a couple years (speaking of which, it's probably time to change that out), after they'd ripped up the cute goldfish one that was there before it.

Yes, we have boys.  They like to rip things from time to time.

Moving on.

Look how well the kids did with geography last year (well, H and Z).  I can only think it had something to do with the convenient reading material available to them in the bathroom.  I mean, come on, every little bit helps, right?!  If all they're doing is sitting there on the potty, what else do they have to do besides study the world map hanging a foot away from them?

So I've been searching high and low for useful human body teaching tools to put in our homeschool room to elaborate on what we'll be teaching the kids this year and I just found the cutest skeleton shower curtain (think 'anatomy', not 'fad-based' skull and crossbones) on Amazon!  I want to put it in our guest bathroom right next to the homeschool room.

I'm dying though because this thing is nearly $30!  For a vinyl shower curtain that the boys will probably rip up at some point.  The only reason I got the world map one was because I found it on clearance somewhere -- WalMart, maybe? -- for like $10.

So for now, it's in my wish list.

I'm interested in your thoughts about education in the bathroom?  Ideal or icky?

  3. :) I read way more often than I comment...since most of my reading is on my phone...but I was reading from my actual computer for once!

  4. Oh cool! I forget that people can read on their phones since mine doesn't do that. :) Well, I'm glad to have you visit!

  6. Yeah, there aren't that many styles. Maps are most popular ... but I love all the varieties.
